To create a website that is fully functional and meets the needs of you, our client, we must follow several steps. These steps are listed and explained below:
Step 1. Information Gathering - This includes tasks such as determining the PURPOSE, establishing GOALS,determining a TARGET AUDIENCE, and determining what kind of CONTENT you want and need for the website.
During this step you will provide any information needed for the content of your website. This includes information about your business (or whatever the site is about), any graphics you already own that will be placed on the site, etc.
Step 2. Planning - Using the information gathered from phase one, we will put together a plan for your website. We will make a list of topics and sub-topics that will be on the website. This will also help determine the exact content of the website, as well as the layout of the navigation.
Step 3. Design - Based on the information gathered in the previous steps, we will will create one or more prototype designs for your web site. This is typically either an image (.jpg, .gif, etc.) that will resemble the intended finish product, or you will be given a web link to an actual page where you can view the design "live".
Step 4. Development - This step is the point where the web site itself is created. At this time, we will take all of the individual graphic elements from the prototype and use them to create the actual, functional site.
Step 5.Testing and Delivery - At this point, we will take care of any final details that may have been missed (or left for last) with your website. You will be given a chance to double check that all of the information is correct and to your satisfaction before the content files are uploaded to your website. Once you have given final approval, the website will be uploaded to the server and will be live on the world wide web.
